Body based care for all seasons of womanhood

The Gentle Return · 1:1 Coaching

A gentler way back to yourself.

When life becomes full of caring, carrying, coping and keeping everything going, it can be surprisingly hard to hear what you need.

The Gentle Return is supportive 1:1 coaching for women who want to make sense of what's underneath the overwhelm, reconnect with themselves and find small, meaningful ways forward that genuinely feel like their own.

♡ Gentle & supportive   ♡ No pressure   ♡ Your pace

Charyn of Soma and Soul
A little space to hear yourself again ♡
Perhaps you recognise this

You're managing. But where are you in it all?

You don't have to be in crisis to know that something doesn't feel quite right.

You're capable — and everyone knows it. People rely on you, and somehow you're carrying more and more.
Your mind rarely feels quiet. You're anticipating, organising, remembering and wondering whether you've done enough.
You're used to putting others first. Your own needs have gradually become harder to recognise.
Even rest can feel like another task. Something to earn, optimise or do properly.
You know something needs to change. But you don't need another person telling you what you should do.
A different kind of support

You don't need fixing. You might just need somewhere to hear yourself again.

My approach is gentle, curious and collaborative.

Rather than handing you another list of things to do, we create space to understand what's really happening beneath the surface.

Together, we explore patterns, expectations and pressures that may be keeping you stuck. Then we look for small changes that feel realistic, compassionate and truly your own.

What we might explore

There's no right reason to come to coaching.

You don't need a perfectly defined goal. We can begin with what's taking up space for you right now.

♡

Overwhelm & burnout

Making sense of the pressure you're under and recognising what you need to feel more supported.

◌

Carrying too much

Exploring what genuinely belongs to you and what you've gradually come to carry for others.

❀

Motherhood & identity

Making room for the person you are alongside your roles and responsibilities.

◎

Neurodivergence

Understanding your own way of experiencing the world and finding what works for you.

↝

Change & transition

Finding your footing during a new season of life or a shift in how you see yourself.

✧

Self-trust & confidence

Reconnecting with your own voice, values and ability to make choices that feel right for you.

How I work

Gentle in approach. Meaningful in impact.

I combine compassionate curiosity, mindful reflection, body-based awareness and evidence-informed coaching techniques.

You remain the expert in your own life. My role is to help you see more clearly, recognise your patterns and discover choices that feel right for you.

01 · Awareness

Notice

"What's really going on here?"

We gently explore recurring thoughts, expectations, habits and pressures, including those you may not have noticed before.

02 · Compassion

Make Space

"What do I actually need?"

We make room for your needs, feelings and values without judgement or another set of shoulds.

03 · Choice

Move Forward

"What feels possible for me?"

We turn insight into small, achievable experiments and actions that you choose and can make your own.

A client's experience
“It's a refreshing look at yourself and how small changes to your thought process can improve your outlook and wellbeing.”
— Zara, October 2026
The evidence behind coaching

Small changes can matter. And research supports the value of coaching.

Coaching is more than positive thinking. Research suggests that structured, collaborative coaching can support goal-setting, coping and aspects of wellbeing.

Coaching & meaningful change

Support for goals, coping and wellbeing

A meta-analysis of organisational coaching studies reported positive effects on outcomes including wellbeing, coping and goal-directed self-regulation.

These findings concern workplace coaching, not this particular programme, but offer useful evidence for collaborative coaching approaches.

Health & wellbeing

Confidence to make meaningful changes

Research reviews of health and wellness coaching have identified improvements in some measures of quality of life and self-efficacy.

The certainty of evidence varies, and outcomes depend on the person, context and type of coaching.

Health and wellness coaching systematic review literature. Explore the evidence

Research describes group-level findings. Individual outcomes vary. Coaching is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.

About your coach

Hi, I'm Charyn. I'm glad you're here.

I believe good coaching should feel more like being deeply heard and understood than being told what to do.

My style is gentle, down-to-earth and supportive. I draw on evidence-informed coaching tools, nervous-system awareness, body-based practices, mindful reflection and compassionate curiosity.

I'm particularly interested in those moments when the problem we first notice isn't quite the whole story.

I love helping people recognise patterns, question expectations and discover small changes that feel meaningful, manageable and genuinely theirs.

My hope is that you leave coaching not with more instructions, but with greater clarity, self-understanding and trust in your own choices.

A note about coaching

Coaching is collaborative and future-focused. It can complement therapeutic or medical support but does not replace therapy, diagnosis or treatment.

A gentle invitation

I'm welcoming a small number of practice clients.

I'm currently training as a health and wellbeing coach and would love to work with a small number of people who are curious about experiencing The Gentle Return.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to work on.

Feeling that something could be different is enough of a place to begin.

You can use the enquiry form to tell me a little about yourself and ask about current practice-client arrangements.

Before you enquire

You might be wondering...

Do I need a clear coaching goal?

Not at all. We can begin with whatever is feeling difficult, noisy or stuck. Finding clarity is often part of the process.

Will you tell me what to do?

No. Coaching is collaborative. I'll bring questions, reflection and supportive tools, while you remain the expert in your own life.

Is coaching therapy?

No. Coaching can complement medical or therapeutic care but isn't a replacement for either.

What happens after I enquire?

Complete the short enquiry form and I'll be in touch to discuss what you're looking for and whether coaching feels like a good fit.

Am I committing to coaching by completing the form?

No. The enquiry is simply the first step towards a friendly, no-pressure conversation.

Your next small step

Does this feel like you? Let's begin gently.

You don't need to have everything worked out. You don't need the perfect words.

If something here has resonated, I'd love to hear from you.

Let's start with a conversation.

Complete my short coaching enquiry form and tell me a little about what's brought you here.

Welcome to
Soma & Soul

Come as you are.
Leave a little more whole.

I'm a massage therapist, yoga teacher and somatic healing practitioner - and I founded Soma & Soul to hold space for all seasons of womanhood.

The way I support others is shaped by my own journey — through the burnout of corporate life, the upheaval of becoming a mother, and the gradual (and still ongoing) return to myself — one step, one breath at a time. With many years of training and practice in      Yoga, Massage and SomaticsI bring a trauma-informed approach to my classes, treatments, circles and 1:1 work, along with warmth, humour and a deep care for how people actually feel in the room.

My approach

Classes for Women & Mothers

A soft place to land. A calm space to come home to yourself.

Supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the tender postpartum season is deeply personal to me. These classes are shaped by my own journey through motherhood, my work in yoga, massage, and somatics, and a belief that every woman deserves care that honours her changing body, nervous system, and soul.
